Annie Ellicott is a jazz vocalist and interdisciplinary artist. She expands her role as a songwriter, creative musician, voice over artist and actress through recording, video production, stagecraft and performance art. Annie has toured the United States and Europe, performing both traditional jazz and original compositions.
Ellicott released an album of original music entitled “Lonesome Goldmine” on Unknown Tone Records in 2016. This genre-bending album is a mix of soundscapes and haunting lyrics. She debuted a multi-media presentation of “Lonesome Goldmine” melding live musical performances, music videos, performance art and dance at the Nightingale Theater in Tulsa, OK and went on to win Album of the Year in the Best of Tulsa Awards.
Over the past year, Ellicott has been working with the jazz and improvisation community in New Orleans through multiple residencies, collaborating with Helen Gillet, Mike Dillon, Aurora Nealand, Nikki Glaspie and others. She has become a regular at the Instant Opus series which showcases top improvisational artists from around the world. She also recorded at Marigny Studios with Brian Haas’ Love Amalgam ensemble, and with Tephra Sound. Annie debuted a body of her original compositions at Snug Harbor in 2017 accompanied by James Singleton, long time Bassist for Mose Allison, and David Torkonowski, an accompanist and arranger for Dianne Reeves.
Recently Annie co-wrote, choreographed and performed the lead in an original installation operetta “Ritual for Delphine,” an interdisciplinary piece made for the Music Box Village in New Orleans. She also collaborated with musician Mark Southerland to conceptualize, costume and choreograph “Dada Duets”, a series of pop-up performances designed for the internationally-acclaimed Meow Wolf installation “House of Eternal Return,” Santa Fe NM.
Annie is a recurring guest vocalist with Jeff Goldblum and the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra at both The Rockwell Table and Stage in Los Angeles, as well as Feinstein’s At The Nikko in San Francisco. Ellicott has appeared with Goldblum and his ensemble in San Francisco at both the Outside Lands Festival and Sketch Fest 2016, 2017, and 2018.
